About Placeholder Image Generator

Mockups and wireframes need placeholder images at specific dimensions before real assets are ready. This generator uses the Canvas API to draw a rectangle at your specified width and height (1-4096px each), fills it with your chosen background color, and renders a centered label in your chosen text color. The label defaults to the dimensions (e.g. '800 × 600') if you leave the custom label field empty. Font size is calculated as Math.max(14, Math.min(width, height) / 8) so it scales proportionally. Five preset buttons cover common sizes: 16:9 (1280×720), 4:3 (800×600), 1:1 (500×500), OG Image (1200×630), and Banner (1500×500). Click 'Generate Placeholder' to render, then download as PNG. Designers filling layout slots, developers testing responsive images, and anyone building a prototype are the primary users.
